4 Fun Math Tricks For Easy Calculation
Did you know that mathematics can become quite easy later if the basics are clear? That is the reason many recommend added math classes after school for better implementation. Often a child finds it difficult to concentrate while having to share their teacher’s attention with all the other students. A home tutor in that case helps students to cope with their syllabus and teach easier ways to solve math problems.
Before we find some brilliant teachers, let us talk about some tricks of mathematics.
4 Easy and Fun Tricks to Mathematics
There are many such tricks that children can easily learn and incorporate into their daily maths practice. But today we will learn about four now and the rest from the teachers mentioned below.
Multiplying Two-Digit Numbers
Suppose one of the given numbers is even, then use the steps given below for solving it.
Let’s take an example, 16 x 35
Where 16 is an even number, now divide the first number, making it half i.e. 16/2 = 8
Now we will double the next number 35 x 2 = 70
Finally, we multiply the product of both that is 70 x 8 = 560
Tricks for Addition
Using the basic principles of the unit’s place and tens, two-digits multiplication can be done in this manner.
Use 64 + 46
Take the first number and split it into units and tens places. 60 + 4 = 64
Complete the addition for tens place. 46 + 60 = 106
Then add the rest of the numbers that are left. 106 + 4 =110.
Trick to Find Percentage
Let’s say we need the percentage for a number. For example, 2% of 464.
Now, look into the steps.
The number given to us has to be turned to a decimal point by one place so the number becomes 46.4
Now we divide the 46.4 by 2, which equals 23.2.
23.2 is the correct answer.
8’s Table is As Easy as 9’s
You must know memorizing 9’s table is very easy. When you look into the pattern you can notice the numbers increase by 1 at the ten’s place and the numbers placed in the unit’s place decrease by 1.
09, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81, 90.
Now to remember 8’s table you have to subtract 1 to 10 from each of the products.
09 – 1 = 08; 18 – 2 = 16; 27 – 3 = 24; 36 – 4 = 32; 45 – 5 = 40; 54 – 6 = 48; 63 – 7 = 56; 72 – 8 = 64; 81 – 9 = 72; and 90 – 10 = 80.
This method can be used for any number higher or lower. Try yourself for 7.
Knowing some of these tricks can really help children practice maths quite easily without getting frustrated. But, are these enough? Sometimes it is, and sometimes, a child needs a tutor entirely for themselves.
